John Heifner said he and his wife, both of whom were nurses before their involvement with Workout Anytime, started their franchise in 2010. "We don't want to tip off any competitors," he said. The company is looking to expand its franchise presence in Knoxville and has identified some potential areas it doesn't want to discuss, he said. Parker said that Knoxville has been a good market for Workout Anytime, which has locations in In Farragut, Bearden, Powell, Halls, Maryville, and Sevierville. The facility also has two tanning stations, and offers Hydromassage, in which jets of heated water deliver a full-body massage. John Heifner said all three are certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He and John and Gina Heifner do the training sessions. "We have group classes and one-on-one training available for all fitness levels," said Nathan Bayless, a trainer at the facility.

The Halls location uses Matrix brand exercise equipment and has equipment for cardio and core muscle work, circuit training and free weights. "I have about 3,000 members at that club (Powell) and I imagine we have the potential of having at least that many members here," he said. John Heifner said he hopes to achieve similar success with the Halls location. "It is probably in the top three," he said. Emory Road, which Greg Parker, Workout Anytime franchise developer for Kentucky and Tennessee, said is one of the best performing of the company's 108 locations. It has about 1,000 square feet more space than the couple's Powell facility at 3547 W. "We have about double the usable space here," he said. Heifner said the Halls gym is a relocation and expansion of a facility that the franchise was operated on Broadway As the name of the company implies, Workout Anytime members have access to the facility any time they wish. These are not the only hours of operation, though. It will be staffed each day starting at 9 a.m., with the staff there until 8 p.m. today and will be available seven days a week.
